An experienced sales lead, part-time

Interim GTM manager: your interim sales manager for a new market

In every market entry there is a phase in which one person would make the difference – but volume can’t yet carry a full-time salary. An interim sales manager solves the timing.

Senior capacity, part-time

Don’t hire a full-time sales manager too early

In every market entry there is a phase in which one person would make the decisive difference – but the business can’t yet carry a full-time salary. Hiring at this point is a double risk: the process takes months, and a wrong choice is expensive. In Germany, add employment protection and notice periods to the equation.

An interim GTM manager solves the timing. You get an experienced business developer who speaks your customers’ language for a few days a month – without an employment contract, a recruitment process or dismissal risk.

We work as part of your team: we join sales meetings, use your systems and represent your company under your name towards customers.

Questions

Frequently asked questions: interim GTM manager

How is an interim manager different from a consultant?

A consultant recommends, an interim manager delivers. In the interim role we take responsibility for agreed results: the target list, meetings, partner negotiations or building a distributor network – and we report on them like your own employee would.

In practice we work as part of your team: we join sales meetings, use your systems and represent your company under your name.

How many days a month does an interim GTM manager work?

Typically a few days a month – often 2–6. Less is not enough to keep the sales process moving; clearly more is usually a sign that it’s time to consider a hire.

The workload is often higher at the start, because that is when the foundation – target group, material, process – is built.

What does this cost compared with hiring?

Hiring an experienced sales manager means, beyond the salary, social security contributions, employment protection and recruitment risk – and the process takes months. A wrong choice is expensive.

The interim model is billed monthly without an employment relationship and can be ended at short notice. It costs more per day but less per result, as long as volume can’t yet carry a full-time person.

Who takes on the role?

Anna or Constantin, depending on the industry. Constantin is a business developer from the technology side – SaaS, IoT, AI and AR/MR – and Anna is a sales and marketing specialist for FMCG and food. Both have twenty years of experience in international sales.

You don’t buy a senior and get a junior: the client work is done by the same person who sold it.

How do we exit the arrangement?

We set things up from day one so that the work can be handed over. Contacts, process, material and CRM records are yours. When you hire your own person, we onboard them and, if needed, stay in the background with a smaller commitment.

When does an interim GTM manager make sense?

When the market is already sending first signals – interested customers, requests for quotes or partner candidates – but volume can’t yet carry the salary and overheads of a full-time salesperson. Many market entry projects stall in exactly this gap, because nobody has time to handle the new market alongside their day job.

An interim GTM manager covers exactly this phase: an experienced lead who speaks your customers’ language, for a few days a month, without a recruitment process, notice periods or employment risk. The contract is fixed-term, and the scope can be adjusted as business grows.
